I just got a call from a new scam approach. They start with saying your antivirus subscription refund is available because your antivirus supplier has gone out of business, You are owed $299. When I play along, I find that the first level person just wants me to get google up and running. Then they turn me over to a second level person and he tries to get me to install a remote access agent on my computer so he can “help” me through the process of getting the refund.
I use the free antivirus from Microsoft and so there is no $299 refund that might be owed to me. Everyday the hackers are alive and will and trying to deceive anyone that they can. What a sad state of affairs…
